You cannot connect a computer without a Network adapter to a laptop to share the connection.

What you currently have is a Dial-up modem. It isn't helpful for what you want to do.

There are a few ways you can fix this issue.

1)Install a Network Interface card (NIC) into your computer. Connect the NIC directly to the cable or DSL.

2) Install a wireless USB adapter. Connect to the wireless router with it. This assumes your Father has one already, if not see #3.

3) Get a wireless router and connect that to the existing Internet connection directly and install a wireless USB adapter. You may need a wireless adapter for your system and for your Dad's.
References :
Your dsl modem should have another interface besides
ethernet.
this connector will be more square, it uses the same cable that you can use to hook a printer up with a usb port.
connect the usb cable to this connection than hook it up to your computer.
you may need to reinstall your internet software.(the software that came with your dsl modem) than you will be set.

You can use the Command Prompt feature that is in every release of Windows. Simply go-to Start>Run and then type "CMD.EXE" (Without Quotes) . It will open the Command Prompt window.
References :
You can't do this legally. You need a license for Windows XP or Vista to install it on your Mac.
References :
Dear,
It is not just the question of wordperfect program you use. but it is the question of other hardware, like printer, scanner, bluetooth etc(if u use) because if you brought these devices before vista came, your these devices will not work with vista and you will be in problem. Secondly, other softwares will either not run on vista or will run with error, say office xp always generates error before running on vista.

It will be better if you can buy a computer with windows xp.
References :
Use one partition.
I have used a second partition only to save a Ghost image of the C drive for guaranteed quick recovery.
References :
If you have a Mac, you already have the simplest and very powerful movie editing software loaded. Unless you just don't want to try new things, I would suggest you try using iMovie.

If you can't bring yourself to do that, then purchase Virtual PC or VMWare Fussion to load Windows onto your Mac. You can't get around not loading something extra to run PC software on a Mac.
References :
Apple/Mac user since 1981
